Thread: Celebrimbor's confession
WHO: Xanthippe and Celebrimbor
WHEN: Evening of Monday 28 October 2013
WHERE:Xathippe's room, Hydra dorm
Xanthippe was extremely excited. Celebrimbor was coming over, and she had hopes for him. Her mother's death had left a void in her life, and she wanted someone to be close to. Family. She wanted family, and it should be him. She wasn't sure what it was, but something about him just felt right. Other. Monster. Like her.
It had frustrated her that he was making her wait over a human, but looking around her room, maybe it was for the best. Her room was drab. She kept it neat and clean, yes, but she hadn't really gone to the effort to make it homey. Now she was on a mission! There wasn't a lot she could do in a day with no money—and she'd promised not to raid the humans—but she'd always been resourceful. The drama teacher was sympathetic to her desire to make curtains and gave her access to the costume supplies. Curtains, table clothes for the desk and nightstand, and a thicker fabric on the floor to cover the bare wood went a long way to brighten up the place. She really needed to find a crochet hook and thread for lace, but that would take longer than a day to make.
As she worked, collecting some nice shells from the ocean and printing out some pictures of Greece for the walls, she wondered what sort of magical creature he'd turn out to be. Because what else could he be coming to tell her? A cyclops? A centaur? But all those things, there would be signs. Even a satyr wearing pants, you could tell by the way he walked. Maybe he wasn't Greek, but one of the other kinds of creatures, a demon or elf or whatever there were? Whatever he turned out to be, Xanthippe was certain it would be fine despite Celebrimbor's misgivings. It would work. She would make sure it worked. Besides, he already said he wasn't human, and there was nothing worse than that.
She really hoped he'd like her.
