Thread: Greetings!
WHO: Callidora Manikas & Trent Kane
WHEN: 03 May 2014, early afternoon
WHERE: Random coffee shop in town
The jewellery shop was a beautiful place, and it was taking a lot of self control on Callidora's part not to snatch at the jewels and gems and delicate silver chains, the platinum rings set with diamonds for some stupid thing called "marriage". Her fingers trailed over the cabinet, the glass thin and fragile and so easily broken underneath her touch. She pressed her lips together and turned her head away, watching the shop attendant for a few seconds to make sure the woman wasn't going to assume the worst of the young dragon.
She often came in here looking, just looking, two or three times a week but could rarely afford to purchase anything. During her time here she had only bought an item or two. Nothing too big or fancy, one of the rings that sat on her left thumb had been her first purchase. She felt it only fitting.
Her hair as was pulled back in a messy ponytail today and she pulled herself away from the store with great difficulty, feeling a surge of pride in herself at the fact that she had parted without anything in her hands. For that, she could surely go back tomorrow, or the day after, to take something precious away with her to add to her collection.
Enjoying the chance to stretch her legs outside of the school grounds, Callidora had spent the morning in the town’s library before going to the small jewellers. Now feeling a little thirsty, she headed towards one of the town’s many coffee shops. She had been there a few times, knew the human who worked behind the counter though she didn’t understand why he kept leaving a string of digits in pen along the outside of her cup after he’d suggested what drink she should try. It was most confusing.
She went for a peppermint latte today, on his suggestion, and also purchased two cookies - one chocolate chip, and one white chocolate and macadamia - and a lemon muffin, all new things for her to try and learn the taste of. Carefully balancing her tray and her tall mug of coffee (since she was eating in, this time), Callidora turned her head to look at somewhere to sit, distinctive starburst scarring clear as it worked down the length of her neck.
Her eyes fell on a figure that was familiar to her only in that she had seen his face around the school. She tilted her head, eyes watching him for a moment before she spotted the sugar shaker move half an inch without being touched. Her lips curled up slightly in a small, excited smile and she crossed over, putting her tray down and sliding into the seat opposite him on the booth. The first thing she noticed was that he had very blue eyes, like her, and floppy hair.
“You go the school, do you not.” She announced, making herself comfortable in the booth, “Do you mind if I sit here? I am still trying to meet new people and perhaps you would like to be friends?” She held out her hand as she had seen done so many times before, “My name is Callidora.”
