When Trent reached out and touched her hand, Callidora went stiff briefly, as if she were preparing to snatch her hand back, protect her precious ring from the questing fingers of a human who might thieve from her. But then he just touched it, ran his thumb along the stone and she visibly relaxed when it became apparent that he wasn't going to snatch the ring from her. That was a good thing, she liked this human, she decided. He had different hair to Leon, two humans who looked totally different. She wondered why he didn't have his hair long. Perhaps he didn't practise the same magic as Leon. After all, she had seen him move something without touching it and that was a special power of its own.
Was it magic? She supposed she should ask him.
Calli? Could he call her Calli? Was that a nickname? Friends did that, did they not? That was something that happened between friends? Her eyes lit up again and that smile reappeared on her face, curling her lips up.
"Yes," she said with a nod of her head, "Yes, you may call me Calli." She repeated the name again, testing the weight of it on her tongue, pleased with how it sounded and the connotation that by calling her 'Calli', Trent was a friend. "Do you like my ring?" she asked, "I have many of them." She sounded proud, like she wanted to show off her collection to someone who would appreciate it.
