Who: Emily, Trent, Ollie, & Vixey What: A double date?!?! Where: Martin & Marvin’s Modern Theatre When: foredated, Saturday May 3rd, evening Rating: TBD Emily stared at her appearance in the mirror turning her head side to side. She had already wasted so much time going through her clothes. Normally going to the movies with friends she’d wear what she’d always wear, jeans and one of her too big for her graphic tees. For tonight it would be the one that has the Captain America shield on it. But apparently this wasn’t just a bunch of friends going to the movie…no….now it was a double date, because Ollie wanted to cuddle up to the new girl. She growled to herself at the thought. She honestly had nothing against Vixey, she seemed like a cool sweet girl, she just hated that Ollie always did this! Flirting or winking when things are serious. Like the lightsaber battle they used to have every day on international Star Wars day, he spent the whole time winking at the girls…she got so mad last time she aimed for his head for the rest of the fight. Why couldn’t he just simply not flirt for two seconds? Now a movie she had been looking forward to was going to be ruined by having all this stupid context to it.
Now another part of it was that since Ollie was taking Vixey….she was Trent’s date. Sure when she invited him she just thought it would be a nice gesture but now….did he think of it as a date or was she stressing for no reason? She tugged on her hair in thought and bit her lip as her mind raced. Would he get all weird once they go to the movies and it became very obvious that it was a date when Ollie and Vixey started acting all cutesy. She growled again at the thought. But what if he didn’t act weird? What if he…wanted it to be a date? She stared at herself in the mirror. What on earth would a guy like Trent see in her? She wasn’t as pretty as Annabeth or Claire….two girls he had seen him hang around. They were both gorgeous glamorous blondes…she was a geeky little brunette…redhead? Honestly she had no idea what to refer to herself as with her auburn colored hair…so she usually went with brunette. But what to call her hair wasn’t important…she was going on a date….a date…her very first date…with Trent. Sure he was a good friend and she’d be lying that she wasn’t a little enamored with him….and his power obviously. It sort of became a bit more than platonic on the night of the Wendigo attack…he was so brave…like one of the superheroes in her comic books. It was hard not to idolize him a bit after the fact.
She glanced down at her outfit. She had traded up her normal graphic tee for a silky navy blue camisole that her stepmother had her buy on one of their shopping trips. It was pretty she supposed. She still was going to wear her hoodie over it as it was still cold outside. She had spent more time than usually on her hair and actually put on some makeup and was checking over her appearance. Why was she trying to impress anyome….it was just Trent and Ollie…she’s never had to try in the past? Was she trying to compete with Vixey? Be the prettier girl of the two? No….that was stupid….girl’s competing with each other over something so trivial was stupid. Then what was her reasoning. She groaned in frustration than glanced at her watch. Dang it she was running late. With one last glance in the mirror she fluffed her hair.
Trent would be over soon….he was picking her up...like a proper date. Ug…she hated this…it was going to be so awkward. There was no way that Trent saw her that way, why would he, no one did. Her mind flashed to the kiss she and Ollie shared on the night of Andrei’s party. She blushed…no they both agreed to forget about it…also she initiated it…not Ollie, he was drunk so he just went along with it. He didn’t think of her that way…and she was fine with it….she was….honestly. She opened the door and smiled, “Ready to go?”
