Alec let loose with a further laugh, clearly amused by how Valentin chose to phrase his questions, especially as it was painfully obvious to her just how much experience he didn't have with women. Granted Alec had not been a woman for a very long time but she'd known enough of them in her time to know how to ask certain things.
"I'm a Phoenix," she affirmed as she took a further bite of rabbit. "I die and am reborn every five hundred to a thousand years." As for why she was in high school? That was slightly more complicated. A look at Leon had her considering her words before she inhaled and exhaled. "As for why I'm here that's slightly more complicated. Every time I'm reborn I lose memories and it takes some time to recover them all, but this regeneration was different. So much so that I reformed a young teenage girl instead of the fully grown man I had always been in the past."
She brushed her hands off and reached out for the fire, the cold seeping into her bones much quicker than she would like. "The ringmaster and my ashes keeper didn't know what to do with me so they thought it best I recover my memories and adapt to my new body in a safe environment."
