Valentin was still there, listening intently and absorbing the information Alec was giving him. "A fully grown man?" Valentin repeated. "Like, with... all the parts and stuff? That's pretty awesome. I didn't know it worked like that! I thought phoenixes could only be firebirds, not, like, long-legged humans."
"Wow," Valentin said, obviously impressed. "That's so weird. And cool." Valentin took his pan from the fire and poured his blood into a bowl after establishing it was warm enough. He brought it to his mouth and began sipping.
Valentin put the bowl down and looked at Leon. "And you knew this, right? Considering you're not terribly impressed. Are you, like, a Phoenixologist?"
