"I guess I don't really have that problem," she replied. It was a half-truth. Sure New York was typically colder than many places, but mainly, she just didn't really notice temperature much. Then there was the whole fact that she had been moved around to a great deal of foster homes in her short life, so the whole living in a place that doesn't feel like home was not that much of an issue either.
She nodded. She wasn't too interested in talking about her foster homes, but she wasn't really embarrassed about it anymore. After a certain number of times being sent to a new home, you stop feeling anything towards a place other than, at least it's not the abusive one again.
