Sunrise by the Ladon Bonfire: Van and Tanek
"Yeah," Tanek said, almost abruptly, when Van pointed out that the easy out he had envisioned for his future was exactly the past he was escaping from. It was sobering that he had not realized that himself. Patterns. He wondered if he would ever shake that part of himself, ever put it to rest.
But then Van fingered his mouth and Tanek playfully snapped at it, before the kelpie wrapped him in a sideways hug. And then Tanek heard Van gag, before feeling something wet and sticky and sweet and pungent drip down his shoulder.
"Oh hey," Tanek said, almost mildly. Bodily fluids did not scare him, though he knew it was time to get back to the dorms. He pulled them both to their feet, tried to wipe the worst off of both of them and then realized it was no use. "C'mon," he said, half-shoving and half-supporting Van back to Kitsune, "I need a shower now."
