WHO: Peyton & Kent
WHEN: Monday after regular classes have adjourned
WHERE: The Oracle newsroom HQ
Kent was intent on the screen of his laptop where he was working on this month's special issue of The Oracle. He had a Red Bull beside him on the desk and a stack of notes he glanced at every so often. The newsroom was busy as the staff prepared for its regular issue, making final layout choices and last minute article edits. The room was loud, but that didn't seem to bother Kent as he worked in his own corner.
Kent had convinced the editor-in-chief that he could handle the special issue on his own this time. He didn't mind other people working with him on something, but more often than not, he had to fix their contributions. Kent had a specific idea he wanted for the elections issue, and he had sold it to the editor with his reputation on the line. Kent was not the kind of student to let his reputation as a journalist slip.
Unfortunately, his article needed several photographs of the newly elected officials. Single portraits and a group shot. Photography wasn't his specialty and with most people already busy with the new issue coming out, there wasn't a regular photographer available. He'd been assigned Peyton Hayes instead, and Kent was not happy about having a newbie Standard on his team.
