Just a swim
Who: Hayden and Kendra Where: The Lake When: After classes on Wednesday
The water calmed her, and unlike the chlorine in the pool, the water if the lake always felt nicer. She just didn’t venture out to the lake or beach as often because she was always busy and the pool was closer. That day though she decided to spend the extra time. Kendra arrived at the lake and folded her clothes in a pile, her bikini underneath, and went for a swim. The water was nice, she couldn’t resist taking the time to practice her control while she was out there, she was better with small bit, not so much with big showy things. After a while she retired to the edge of the lake, found a rock she could dangle her feet in the water, grabbed her backpack and started to do some homework. Her control of the water allowed her to dry off her hands so her book and notebook didn’t get wet.
As Kendra looked through the book on Nymphs, she occasionally jotted down some notes and pulled out her phone to google additional information. Her search for her mother was slow going, but she was learning a lot about her people at least. And best of all it helped keep her mind off the previous week and her utter failure at putting herself out there.
