Thread: Makeup Tutorial WHO: Mani Clarke and Fen Kingston WHEN: Late July WHERE: A clothing shop in town
Summer had been good to Mani. The break had given him time to really acclimate to his new surroundings, the school, the woods, and the town. As much of the school population did not stay for the summer, Mani had found it easier to go into the woods and sate his hunger when needed, able to avoid contact with anyone else while scavenging in his hyena form. His schedule became largely nocturnal, which he preferred anyway, being up for classes during the day but otherwise napping away much of the daylight hours. He began to occasionally go into town during a free day when he felt a little more energetic, familiarizing himself with the shops and eateries there.
Still a little paranoid about being out from the safety of the school, Mani began to use his other transformative ability, taking the shape of a young woman on purpose to go out into town unrecognized. At first it was awkward, as his usual mannerisms and clothing choices didn’t match the feminine form he was taking on. He found himself feeling self-conscious about it, wanting to be able to at least look the part better. Over the past month he’d been trying to do better. He’d bought a few clothing items that fit his female form well, though mostly t-shirts and jeans. He’d decided against shorts despite the weather, as he was not going to commit to shaving his legs. He bought hair products to help ease the frizziness of this shape’s hair.
Mani tended to keep to himself while out, perfecting the f-you look that he would give to anyone looking at his feminine form for too long. His outings into the town had gone well enough and he’d felt he was doing well not being noticed until he met a classmate out one day. He’d recognized Fen from Ladon and a simple muttered ‘hi’ had turned into an actual conversation, which had gone much better than he’d feared it might. Mani, or Mandi as he’d said his name was, felt safe conversing with her, even subtlely learning from her about things she liked, from clothing choices to hair styles. They’d even made plans to hang out more, and had met in town a few times. He kept much to himself still, like the fact that he was not really a girl, that he also went to St. Margaret’s. In his mind, it wasn’t lying as much as it was withholding information.
Today, Mandi was meeting Fen to do some shopping. He was considering getting her opinion on makeup. That was something he hadn’t tried yet, and still wasn’t sure he wanted to, but he was interested in her thoughts about it. Standing in front of the small make up counter in the store, Mani glanced over everything, the mirrors catching his attention as they often did while in this form. He still wasn’t one hundred percent used to looking at his reflection and seeing someone else’s face there. He examined the face looking back at him. Fairly pretty overall, he thought. The eyes always caught his attention, still brown, but more expressive. He stared into them for a moment, then made a duck face into the mirror, making himself laugh.
