Bonfire Part 4
Sasha grinned. “I know,” he replied nonchalantly. “You already said that. Honestly I kinda thought you’d be better at holding your alcohol…”
He felt a moment of sobriety as his feelings settled, everything seemed to quiet for a moment. “No, Sasha… I really like you.” Pavel said, stressing the word hard.
“That’s not funny.” He gave the fae a playful shove. “Why would you joke about that?”
Pavel furrowed his brow and shook his head. “Why would I joke?” He asked. “I would never joke about that.” He knew Sasha could be vulnerable around certain emotions. And he had issues at times expressing himself as well. The Fae may have done some bad things in his past, but he didn’t want to think of himself as cruel.
The half-demon took a step back, fidgeting with his bracelets. “Maybe you’ve just...spent too much time around me. Maybe it just feels like that now because we’ve hung out so much, but when we go back to school...you’ll go back to normal.”
“I’ll go back to normal?” The Fae asked. “What is normal?” He had never minded hanging out with Sasha. It was the half-demon who had been worried about reputation after the fliers.
“Normal is not thinking you like me. Once you’re around other people...other guys...you’ll see it wasn’t real.” There was even a possibility that he might meet someone else… but Sasha was trying not to think about that. “I guess I shouldn’t have stayed here so long....”
“I liked you before summer. Just was not sure how much.” Pavel said. “You never judge me for what happened. You still wanted to spend time here.” He knew at school it had probably just been about the sex for Sasha, and at first it had been nice. But the half-demon had grown on him and he honestly enjoyed his company. “Why can it not be real? How can it not? We have had fun, no? There were other guys at school before but I still slept with you, I invited you to spend time over summer.”
