Week or so later - Downtown Denver Part 1
Pavel’s family welcomed Sasha in to their home, his aunt doted on him a bit in the beginning. While also trying to get more information about what their relationship was. Neither boy elaborated more than just friends, though some in the house knew there were some benefits that came along with it. Such as the time his sister cornered him in the hall and gave him a look as she casually mentioned that she’d thought about stopping by his room earlier. At the time she’d insinuated Pavel and Sasha had been having some afternoon fun. After that he made sure they were much more quiet… and they also started to take more walks… long walks.
That particular day Yulia had abducted the boys and taken them into town, downtown to stock Pavel’s wardrobe with ‘clothes that fit’. As he’d stopped actually growing he hadn’t really changed sizes, but he had gotten much more fit than he’d been the previous summer he had started to fill out his shirts a bit more and Yulia insisted on getting some that weren’t so tight. So they did, and then they stopped by a place to get some ice cream. The tables were small and so the girls all ended up at one table (because his sisters friends had insisted on coming to help pick out his style again) and the boys ended up at one with just the two of them. Actually, to watch it from the outside, it almost seemed like the girls had done so on purpose so the two boys could have some time alone.
Pavel ran his spoon over the small tub of ice cream of various flavors he’d gotten, one of his sisters friends had paid for everyone, and looked at Sasha. “I am sorry you have had to ‘tag along’ for this.” The day had been long, and Sasha had done a lot of waiting… for the post part. “That shirt they made you try on looked really good on you.” He complimented.
Sasha’s ice cream tub was a mix of pastel pink and blue. Digging his spoon into one of the pink scoops he glanced at Pavel and gave a little shrug. “It’s okay. I mean, I’m here to hang out with you, right? I don’t think there’d be a lot to do if you’d just left me at your house.” There had been a lot of waiting around, but there’d also been lots of chatting and a nice lunch and now they were all having ice cream, so in the half-demon’s opinion the day hadn’t been that bad. However, when the focus shifted from finding clothes for Pavel to finding clothes for Sasha...that had been a little awkward. He’d used the excuse of not having enough money but Yulia had offered to pay for him, which was a nice gesture but ultimately one he didn’t want to accept. “I didn’t like it. Not on me,” he said quietly.
He nodded, a small smirk curling at the corner of his cheeks. “Maybe I was just picturing it on floor of my room.” Pavel said, glancing up from his ice cream, next to his hoodie which the half-demon had been wearing. “At least Yulia listened to me when I said I need long sleeves, or layers…” He said, looking at the gloves on the table beside him. “So, it’s not for few more weeks… But I think girls,” He nodded to the other table. “Are wanting to steal me- and you, for Ren Fest. What you say? You will come with me?”
“Don’t all my clothes look better on your floor?” Sasha quipped and licked the ice cream off the end of his spoon. His glamoured tail slipped into Pavel’s lap and brushed against the inside of his thigh. “But she was right about those shirts you wanted to try on.” The half-demon dug into the blue ice cream next, listening to the fae the next event Yulia and her friends wanted to take them to. “Sure. I’ll go wherever you want,” Sasha replied. “What’s a Ren Fest?”
Pavel shifted in his seat slightly, eyes looking at him knowingly at their shared secret of what was happening under the table. “It is Renaissance Festival, with knights and king and queen and things. Everyone dresses up and there are shows and music and lots of things.” He said, or at least how it was explained to him because this was his first year going. “It could be fun.” And he liked the idea of doing things with Sasha. Yea, the bedroom stuff was fun. But just hanging out was actually really fun too. And since they hadn’t done that a lot at school, he almost wanted to make up for lost time- just in case things went back to normal once they went back.
