Pride Part 2
He browsed the merchandise until he found the bracelet he wanted and fished some change out of his pocket to pay. “Do you want me to help you put it on?” Sasha glanced at Pavel, then back at the seller. “Um, okay,” he replied and held his wrist out. The guy behind the stall had jet black hair, a lip piercing and reminded him slightly of Van; he tied Sasha’s bracelet into a knot to keep it on and then gave him a smile. “Make sure you don’t lose it.” The half-demon pulled his arm back and returned the smile. “I won’t.”
Pavel smiled to himself as they moved away from the vendor. “I do think he was flirting.” He said. While he, himself, was really bad at spotting it normally, Yulia had pointed out enough times that day that someone was flirting with him he was starting to spot it.
“Really?” Sasha glanced back at the vendor as they walked away, then returned his gaze to Pavel. “But he didn’t even talk to you. Did he make eye contact or something?” The half-demon was quite aware of just how much attention Pavel had received over the course of the day but there wasn’t much he could do about that. As annoying and intrusive as it was at times, they weren’t anything more than friends. Besides, perhaps seeing how much interest he garnered would help the fae get over his ex. “You should go back and talk to him...unless you’re not that into him. But he was kinda pretty?”
“Flirting with you.” Pavel laughed. “He did not even look at me.”
Sasha blinked. “Oh.” He threw a glance over his shoulder to the dark haired boy at the stall, then turned back with a shrug. “Maybe he thinks I’m a girl. I get that sometimes.”
The Fae couldn’t hold it back, he covered his mouth as a hand moved to his stomach. He didn’t mean to laugh at Sasha, he wasn’t laughing at him, but it was just way to cute how clueless he was about himself. “Sasha, we’re at Gay Pride… I don’t think he thought you were a girl. Maybe he just like guys who are comfortable in pink.” Pavel nudged the other boy slightly. He smiled softly as they walked along, a gentle evening breeze cascaded down the sidewalk. “I know I do.”
The half-demon frowned at Pavel’s laughter before looking away, fidgeting with his bracelets.“There are girls at Pride,” he defended. “And I’m not wearing pink, I left my jacket in the car.” Which he was starting to regret now that a breeze had picked up. “Like that guy in the baseball cap who gave you his number?”
“He was okay.” Pavel said with a shrug, who was he kidding? He looked like a nerdy Hemsworth brother. “But what am I going to do with number of guy I see once? Hope when school is over he is still interested?” He glanced over as Sasha mention he’d left his jacket and frowned slightly. Of course the cool air felt nice to him since he always ran hotter, but the other boy didn’t have that luxury. Casually he took the grey hoodie from his arm and laid it over the blond’s shoulders. “And yes Sasha there are girls, but most girls here are also interested in girls. So I think you are safe that he knew you were guy.” He slipped an arm around his shoulders and leaned into his ear slightly. “A very attractive guy.”
“Okay?” Sasha shot a look of disbelief at the fae. “Are you serious? How high are your standards? ” When Pavel elaborated the half-demon laughed at his friend’s naivety. “He’s interested now. Maybe he won’t be your boyfriend but if you call him to hang out? You’re gonna get some dick.”
Pavel’s hoodie was warm and fleecy and Sasha quickly slipped his arms into the sleeves to make the most of the lingering heat. The fae was basically a walking radiator, and the half-demon leaned in a little as Pavel wrapped an arm around him. “Are you just saying that so I’ll go make out with you somewhere?”
As much as the situation with Sasha had been new to him. Sex without commitment. Random hookups were still something he wasn’t sure about. So, to save himself some embarrassment by commenting he chose to ignore the half-demons first questions and address his last. “Can it not be both? A true saying that happens to lead to making out and sex later?” He asked with a smirk.
