Thread: Bumps, Invites, and Friends WHO: Felicity Bainbridge and Van Carlyle WHEN: Thursday afternoon WHERE: Felicity's Dorm, Pegasus House
Van had a small reprieve from Ms. Hallowfen's ongoing detention. Instead of returning to her service after dinner, she let him have the rest of the evening off. Probably because she was intending to take his weekend, Felicity wagered. Van had come to hang out with her a bit. The two of them hadn't really talked and hung out for some time. Felicity made the suggestion when she had taken note that the past week or so, one of Van's friends was noticably absent from his company. The girl Caitlin often sat with Van during meals. Suddenly she wasn't. So Felicity extended the invitation to hang out.
Now they sat in Felicity's room together. Felicity standing in front of her mirror and observing the baby bump that was now visible. It wasn't enormous but it was definitely there. Her hand smoothed over the front and she watched it in the mirror. She'd returned from Cannes on Monday and had been careful to choose a dress that flowed in order to disguise it. So far, so good. The press hadn't picked up on anything just yet. But there was the wedding this weekend. Felicity's famly was chummy enough with the British royal family to receive an invite to the ceremony. Felicity and Galad would depart the following afternoon.
A half-packed bag sat on a chair. Felicity then turned from the mirror to her friend, "So, you should probably have one of these." She walked over to her desk and pulled out an envelope. It was ornate in appearance. Beautiful runic symbols and iconography representing Frigga pressed into the paper. Van's name was written across the front in stunning calligraphy. Within was a wedding invitation. Felicity and Galadari's wedding invitation. No picture but the text itself said enough. Place, time, and specific instructions for how to reply.
"If you don't want to go, I wouldn't blame you," she said, moving the suitcase off the chair for her to sit. Her hand went to her stomach again, as if to check the baby bump was still there.
