The Grounds: Drawing and finding eggs
In terms of first days at a new school, a giant Easter Egg Hunt and no classes was definitely up there near the top. At first, she didn't really care about the whole thing, but the thought of planning a theme for a dance had caused her to at least half-way look for the eggs. She didn't really know the place too well, having just moved in yesterday, so she didn't think she'd be too helpful. She also had to wonder if accidentally cooking the still sealed egg would count against her.
She had chosen to wear her Hunger Games inspired outfit today. She had put a great deal of effort into this one, sewing the shimmering fabric together, as well as sewing glimmering sequins into the folds of the skirt so that when she moved it would hopefully simulate the glittering sparks of a fire. Above the flame pattern, she simply wore a black corset with a sparse small spots of glittering red and orange. She wore simple black slippers, feeling they wouldn't draw attention away from the dress itself while still looking right for the dress.
Just when she was about to give it up for a bit, she spotted one of the eggs nestled in a small hole in the side of a tree. She reached in and delicately extracted the egg. She then sat down and leaned her back against the tree. Well, one was better than nothing. She could continue looking later too. They had until five. She found a safe spot in her bag to put the egg. It helped to not have any books other than her sketchbook. She then pulled the sketchbook out along with a pencil and began drawing. First day of school is an Easter Egg Hunt, next week was spring break; all and all, she has had much worse transitions in the past.
She didn't really know who people were yet, so she had absolutely no clue who it was she was drawing. They were just around, and that's just what she does.
