"You should really work on your homework," Cressida said, touching one of the leaves and then bringing the scissors. They made a soft snipping sound as she sliced through the plant's green limbs. Her plants required maintenance. The ones she kept in her office were the rarer ones. So far only Barclay had noted that but that wasn't a surprise. His connection to nature and his devotion to his magic made him rather knowledgeable on flora. He'd been a great asset in her greenhouse, as had John before she ahd to revoke his responsibilities when he tested positive for drugs. He had regained access. A small way to test John and see if she could trust him again.
She stepped away from the plant, "You're going to be here until dinner. After dinner, you'll come with me to set the lab for tomorrow. So if you would rather stay up all night working on your homework, by all means, continue as you are.." He would remain there with her until dinner time came. After dinner, the hours of the day would vanish into evening.
Returning to her desk, she sat once more. Cressida had been serious when she told him they were going to spend a lot of time together. Every hour that he wasn't in classes or eating or asleep, he would be in her office or helping her with one task or another. Van had the great misfortune of having all of Cressida's attention.
