The Courtyard: Liam, Mr. Cabot, & Open to a Staff Member
Liam hoped his father would be leaving soon. He followed his father, a couple of steps behind. For as much of an alpha personality that Liam had, his father dominated the family. Liam fell into line because he knew what the man was capable of and also knew that nobody could really stop him. Being at St. Margaret's was a nice break from him, but eventually he'd go home. And then there were his siblings. They were still there and his dad had free range to knock them around if he had too much beer or was in a bad mood. Winter was a slow time for construction, which meant a slow time for work.
His father halted courtyard, turning to face Liam. The younger werewolf stopped and waited for his dad to say something.
"This was a waste of fucking time," Jason started, "This whole school is a waste of time. They're not teaching you anything you don't know already about being what you are and all that bullshit they're talking about with college. Why the fuck are you even here?"
Liam knew his dad didn't actually want an answer, but he spoke before he could stop himself, "Because you wanted to make Mr. Norcross pay because he wanted me booted out of the last school I'm in." It was the truth but it didn't sound all that nice. Jason had sent Liam there because he knew it was an expensive school and he also wanted to keep Liam away from Emma. This was a good way to do that.
"Did I ask you to answer the damn question?" Jason snapped and Liam's jaw clenched, "No, sir."
"You're here because you knocked a girl up and then fucked up by not telling anyone about it," he said and then took a couple of steps closer. Liam instinctively took a step back.
"A girl you took to murder the baby," he accused, "So that's why you're here. But just because you're going to some fancy school, don't you dare think any money i earn is going to pay for college. You're gonna finish here, come home, and work. That's what we do. And that's what you'll do."
Liam stood silent. His father took another step closer, "Is that clear?" He looked up at his father, "You don't have to pay for college if I get a scholarship. Sir."
His father didn't say anything but reached out and grabbed Liam by the front of his shirt. He grit his teeth and then leaned his head in close, speaking low and threatening,"Get those stupid ideas out of your head, boy. And don't you ever talk back to me again."
