Empty Office: Felicity, Galad, maybe Gil, their parents, Rafe and possibly Jack
The meeting was set up in an empty office, and as the time ticked closer on the clock, Felicity felt more and more anxiuos. Her father had arrived sans mother, but that was no surprise. For as much as her mother was home growing up, her father was more involved in her life than she had been. Her mother, for lack of a kinder term, was a breeder. She performed her duty for all elven kind by producing children, and more importantly, producing an heir. Sometimes Felicity was sure that one of the servants coached her mother about remembering the names of her children before she had to interact with them.
To most of the students at the school, Felicity's father looked more like her attractive uncle or maybe even older brother. He stoodwell over six feet in height with a long slim but muscular form. He wore a personally tailored suit that was both sharp and stylish. His daughter inherited his blond hair and blue eyes, and perhaps some of the snobbish features associated with their kind. His ears remained glamoured and he looked like he walked off the cover of a men's fashion magazie. He walked with confidence but observed everyone else with scrutiny. He didn't talk to anyone he wasn't interested in talking to for longer than a few moments, excusing himself quickly with a reason why he had to go. For as lithe and slender as he was, Richard Bainbridge oozed authority and class.
Her father sat through interviews, giving a reasonable amount of respect and listened to her teachers praise her academic performance. One commented that she needed to be a little more social, and Mr. Bainbridge shut that teacher down immediately, saying that Felicity's choice in friendship and social involvement was of his concern, not her teachers, and that he preferred she be selective. So far, her father wasn't picking up on anything though, to her knowledge, so now came time to drop the bomb.
Felicity guided her father to the empty office for a special meeting, and they arrived at the same time as Galad and his parents. The elves greeted each other with much more friendliness than they had exhibited to others, catching up briefly on elven topics and boasting about their children's achievements to one another.
They came into the office, joined by Rafe, who hoped that Jack would be joining them for this too, but it was hard to say. Rafe was there for Felicity, as her Head of House and possibly as an advocate for them. When all relevant parties who could attend were within the room, the door shut and a silence settled.
"What the matter?" Richard Bainbridge asked, his English perfectly accented and proper. Felicity stood next to Galad and immediately she grasped his hand, holding onto it again, in a manner similar to the day of the festival. Only she knew he might be feeling the same terror as herself.
"It's OK, Felicity," Rafe encouraged, "Go on." She looked at her Head of House, then to Galad before their parents.
"Galad and I—" she halted and tried again, "—We had sex. And now I'm with child."
