Courtyard: Dana, Lena, Neculai, and Open
It was unfortunate that the person receiving attention from Lena was Neculai. Dana had sent a picture of Sorin back to her family before she decided to make the trip back herself and wait for him. They knew what he looked like. Lena knew what Sorin looked like and when she stared at Nick, she recognized him and then looked at Dana, "Is this not Sorin?"
"No, no," Dana said quickly, "This is Nick." Her attention returned to Nick again, worry and apology written all over, "She thinks you are Sorin. I am sorry." She knew how sensitive Nick could be when it came to Sorin. Dana had seen the effort he made into separating himself from the other witch and for this to happen? She mouthed "Sorry" to him, hoping he would accept the apology.
She should have warned Lena . . . but then again, she only found out a day before and telling Nick hadn't even crossed her mind until now.
"I am Lena," the older dryad said instead in heavily accented English, "It is nice to meet you." She offered a hand to Nick. Dana forced a smile and stepped in with the introduction, "She is part of my family from Poland. She is a dryad, like me."
