Thread: Parent-Teacher Conference WHO: Mrs. Menides and OPEN to everyone (or bring a separate thread) WHEN: Saturday morning + afternoon WHERE: All over the castle
By hook or by crook, everyone was on their best behavior that Saturday. During the Friday night dinner, Ms. Menides had instructed all students to behave, since they would not only be impressing their own parents, they were representing the school as well. Her look had scanned the dining hall and every student who looked her in the eyes felt the need to sit up straight. Ms. Menides had that way about her.
Funny thing was, most parents felt the same way when she met them at the entrance hall the next day. The morning and early afternoon were reserved for parent-teacher meetings. The late afternoon was meant for tours of the campus and meeting with the heads of house and the mentors. The main event, however, was a lavish luncheon at one.
Before the feast could commence, Ms. Menides gave a speech on the merits of teach such a diverse and talented group of students, emphasizing integration, cooperation and the importance of the future. However, care had still been taken to separate the elves, dwarves and fairies and to make sure that rivaling packs of werewolves were not sitting too close to each other.
Most parents were accompanied by their children or wards, though everyone had their own task as well. The kids who did not have any parents had the most to do: they helped usher people around, served food at the luncheon or ferried parents from the school back to Camden - those who did not sleep in the castle, anyway. The event was over at five and all parents had to have cleared the campus by six, though most parents would take their kids out for dinner that night before returning home, either on Saturday or Sunday.
As every year, it was a harrowing day for everyone involved. Fortunately, Ms. Menides kept a tight reign on things. Not since D-Day had an event been planned so well.
