Thread: Winter's End WHO: Lucia and Wendy WHEN: March 13, evening WHERE: The woods
Lucia laid on her back in the snow, gazing up through the opening of naked tree limbs to watch the stars. Her breath did not mist on the air and the frozen ground beneath her didn't bother her skin. She laid there, her white hair blending with the snow, and her hand held onto Wendy's hand.
They laid together, side by side, simply enjoying the silent cold of a winter's night. It would end soon, winter. Spring was already creeping in and most of the snow was gone. The pile they laid on was their own creation. The ground was breaking to let crocus flowers through. This change of season excited Lucia. She was already tending to the earliest flowers, encouraging growth and singing sweet songs. But at night, winter reminded everyone that it still held its grasp on the area.
Reaching up, Lucia caught a tiny snowflake that drifted down to them. She held its delicate structure between her two fingers, then blew it to Wendy where it settled on his eyelashes. Lucia laughed.
