Felicity didn't care about winter fairies and she almost wanted her child not to laugh to avoid anymore of her kind to be born. That is if Felicity was ever going to see her child beyond delivery day. She couldn't let thoughts like that plague her but it was hard not to. Her parents held so much control over her and what her future held. Everything was so precarious right now and she hated not knowing what was going to happen.
She didn't comment on Lucia and allowed Ms. Pearl to change the subject. Felicity was grateeful to be allowed to eat and immediately went to the food. She cut some of the fish and added a chip onto the fork, then she dipped it into the curry and as daintly as one could eat that sort of meal, she put it in her mouth.
Felicity inhaled sharply and then exhaled, happy to be eating and ate almost half the meal before she was satisfied enough to talk about everything. "Besides hungry, I'm alright," Felicity said, "And I have a tenative appointment next week that Mr. Pheres set up. If it happens here or I go home is still in the air."
She had to be frank about it because there was no use hiding that possibility. Mr. Farrowe had asked Ms. Pearl to help her, but she needed to be warned that Felicity might not be there much longer.
