Fred smirked at Hayden as he played off the whole thing. She had to admit she had missed this greatly as well. She would likely apologize in time. Sometime before she left the school. Obviously she would do her best to keep in touch with Hayden, but she knew that eventually Hayden would move away from her. That would be how it was with all of her non immortal friends she supposed.
Despite all of that being present in her mind, she continued to grin with Hayden. "You trying to challenge me to wear those things now too?" she asked with a playful edge to her voice as she watched him fumble with the straps.
She took pity on him after a few seconds and knelt down to help out. "It's okay, Hadie," she told him as though she were speaking to a child, "Some guys just aren't good with their hands." She took his hands in hers for a moment to move them away, ignoring the slight flip her stomach did as she did so. She then worked the straps through the slots and around his ankle with dexterous fingers. She then stepped back to sit in the chair to watch her fashion show.
