A horrified look came over Galad's face at even the thought of giving up the child. Even though the news was barely minutes old and the baby, or what would be their baby, barely two days along, he knew without a doubt that he'd never let anyone else take his child. A morning after pill wasn't an option, either. Galad steadied himself some more.
"The gods gave us this child for a reason." After only one night in bed, Galad thought with some anger directed at the gods. He quickly pulled his thoughts on a more respectful path. More than ever before, he needed the help of the gods. They needed the help of the gods. He and Felicity were in this together, whatever may come.
That thought gave Galad more strength. He wrapped his arms around her, carefully, like handling porcelain, and held her against him in an embrace. Then he kissed her hair, her delicate ear, her jaw, and finally her lips.
"It will be alright. Somehow, it will be alright."
