Felicity felt Galad's strength tighten around her arms, not at first sure what to think and half expecting him to demand the truth. Felicity didn't prank like this though and she could also see he was using her to support himself. This news affected him as much as it affected her. Yes, she would be the one to carry the baby to term but there was a lot to absorb and a lot of decisions that had to be made. Galad almost toppled over but he was straightening himself up and she looked at his hand reaching toward her.
She did what she felt she needed to do and that was to take it. Her fingers entwining with his and somehow that giving her strength, despite the fact he was still processing all of this. She had a day to come to terms with it but she still hadn't fully done that yet. Considering that Galad wasn't drawing away from her was something she would consider positive for now. He could always change his mind.
"I know," she said back in elvish and now her voice wavered, "We have to tell our parents. There's no way we could hide this." She had a good idea about how her father might react but there was no guarantee. Galad's parents were a mystery to her and she knew that an argument would erupt between the families. One might blame the other or try to place all the blame on Galad but she was just as guilty as him. She should have been more careful but she wasn't.
She moved in to steady him, touching his face with her hand and whispering, "I can't give up the child. you know that."
