Cressida began pouring the tea, offering Alicia sugar and milk should she want it and then acted accordingly to what the girl said. Once they settled with a cup in each hand, Cressida placed the spoon on the saucer and held the cup without drinking it just yet.
"I don't like to think myself a prying person," Cressida said, "And typically I don't intrude in anything unless I have reason to suspect that something may be amiss." She brought the cup of tea to her lips now, taking a sip and then setting it back on the saucer, which she went to place on the table that sat to the side of them. Her hands now went to her lap and she focused now on Alicia.
"I had a conversation recently with Cheyenne where she informed me that you kissed her," she said and then raised a hand, as if to signal to Alicia that she wasn't done speaking yet, "I'm not here to lecture you because from what Cheyenne said, I don't have anything to be concerned about. However, I have . . . I suppose it had me reflect a bit more on your conduct over the last year or so."
She paused and looked directly at Alicia, "The journal entries staff could see aren't atypical of the . . . exhubrance of youth. But I'm wondering now if it's more than that. Alicia, are you alright?"
