Thread: Hydra Detention
WHO: Van Carlyle, Wendy Golightly, Blake Hartley
WHEN: After THIS
WHERE: Blake's residence inside the castle, staff housing
Van stood outside the door of Mr. Hartley's residence, scowling at the door as though he might burn a hole through it to destroy everyone inside. That'd be easier, he thought, than dealing with what was coming. But he had no other choice. Ms. Hallowfen made it clear and Ms. Menides backed it up. He had to do this or he was out. Out and on his own.
Van didn't really think the Academy would turn him out, but he'd been to enough Foster Homes that he didn't want to risk it. Here, he'd found friends. He'd found lovers. He wanted to stay. And that meant obeying what his HoH said he had to do for detention.
Fucking Wendy.
Van knocked on the door and a few moments later, Blake answered. The ex-Dragonslayer was intimidating even without a sword, without his armor, without anything that might give insight into what he used to be. Van shivered and ducked his head, trying to hold it still. Hold it together.
"Sir-- Er, Mr. Hartley. Dr. Hallowfen sent me. She... I mean, I'm sorry. I apologize for what I did to Wendy." Van swallowed, the bitter taste of humility coating his tongue. "I'm here to assist Wendy until he recovers."
Blake looked at the petite young Kelpie with narrowed eyes. Kelpie were often smaller and weaker than they actually were. They gave off the impression of weakness. Of seduction and ownership. Fortunately, Blake wasn't inclined to snag the silver necklace that hung around Van's neck. Though the thought did cross his mind.
"Come in," the Dragonslayer said with a low growl. He stepped aside and let Van enter.
Wendy had recently been released from the infirmary under the instructions by Mr. Pheres to take it easy. To not exert himself. Blake called out for him to come down.
"Wendy. You have a visitor."
And then the older dragon-kin went to take a seat on the living room couch, opening a book that he didn't even look at, focused on Van in the foyer.
Van swallowed again and shook his head, staring straight ahead as he waited for Wendy to come downstairs.
