Ladon Party: Alex & Open
It took a bit for Alex to get the pieces of his costume just right. He hit up some of the local thrift shops to find exactly what he needed and when it was all put together, his costume was ready. Where Davian had chosen to dress as Mr. Kaden, Alex had chosen Mr. Cavanaugh. He combed his hair in a similar manner and carried around a small stuffed griffin perched on his shoulder. Some people may not be able to recognize him because who dressed up as Mr. Cavanaugh, but some were able to pick up on it once Alex did some of the Head of Sphinx House's mannerisms and sayings.
Now he was at the party. He'd had one of the cupcakes, so he was feeling pretty damn good. He avoided the alcohol because it just wasn't his thing as it was for other people. Instead, he had some bubble tea he'd made for himself and slurped up a red bean through the wide straw. The music was pretty good, and while he had some criticisms, he wasn't going to take the stage tonight. A few people asked already and he gave them a non-committed answer.
Music would always be a part of him but what once was a major part of his future was now a hobby and something he did for fun. Most of his DJ equipment ended up sold to others, piece by piece going while he saved the money he didn't spend on pot. Tonight's ceremony in the graveyard had affirmed his decision he made during the summer. Nobody had really picked up on the changes he was making, and Alex was fine with that. For one of the few times in his life, he didn't want to be the center of attention.
He'd enjoyed the ceremony quite a bit. He already knew a number of the spirits, having conversed with them on the spirit plane. Then there was Sorin. Alex noted the expression on Valentin's face and the quick wave, and his eyes flicked to Dana who looked on the brink of tears again, but this time not the tears that made him uncomfortable because he didn't know how to console that sort of thing. Before making his way to the Ladon party, he and Sorin nodded to each other in acknowledgement.
Alex watched the other students at the party, taking a backseat to being in the trouble and this time playing the observer on the fringes. Taking a drink from his cup, he realized someone was standing next to him.
