Felicity and Galad
Galad's cheek twitched when she said his brother's name. It wasn't often that Galad let himself be irritated around Felicity, but it happened more now. However, it was hard to stay irritated when Felicity began to express her feelings.
He turned towards her and gathered her hands back into his. Softly, he brought her hands to his lips and kissed her knuckles. He hurt that she hurt, and she hurt because of what he had done. It was why he'd never ask for her forgiveness. All he had was regret for putting his brother before her. His brother who didn't want him. Mistake or not, there was no excuse for his actions.
"My beloved, this party isn't about him. This party is about getting back to normal. I refuse to sulk with my head down after being rejected by my own kin. Now is the time, more than ever, to go forward with my head held high, not looking back. It's the time to forge my own future. I've spent too much of my life assuming my future would be spent at least partially with my brother. He's gone now. He made his choice. I will not beg him to reconsider."
Galad released her hands and looked back towards the fire. "Now. Shall we dance?"
