It's a form of socializing
Who: Sumi and Open
Where: Edge of the woods
When: Tuesday Morning before class
Warnings: So far she's pretty innocent
Sumi had found that she was not too keen to be inside in the mornings when everyone was having breakfast. She couldn't stop herself from feeling bad for all of the animals that had died in order to allow so many ungrateful people to eat. Certainly the students at Pegasus were far better at being nice about her choice than many others in the world, but she still had a tendency to take a small carton of almond milk along with a bowl of fruit outside and eat with her friends. Therefore, on most mornings she could be found sitting near the woods surrounded by woodland creatures as they all ate breakfast together.
This morning was true to her usual morning. She dressed in a white t-shirt dress with black leggings and a Legend of Zelda hoodie featuring Sheik. She set her bag down first before finding a flat area to lay her bowl of fruit. She then sat herself and opened her chocolate almond milk. From her bag she retrieved her Switch and turned it on so she could continue playing Sonic Mania.
"Do you have anything for me today?" a squirrel skittered down from the tree and asked. This particular squirrel had insisted on being named Tippy-Toe every since Sumi read the Squirrel Girl book to her, and to be honest, Sumi thought that to be amusing and so she did.
"If you see anything you like you may have it," Sumi told her, "But not all of it. I need to eat too." Sumi patted the squirrel affectionately on her head before taking a pineapple piece for herself and eating it.
She hadn't really made too many non-animal friends at the school yet, but she was no longer bothered by it. She had two friends, and that was fine with her. The animals of the woods were kind to her. As that crossed her mind, and as though to confirm the thought, a small gray rabbit quickly hopped over to her bowl with a stick containing blackberries and dropped it into the bowl. "Thought you'd like these," he told her, and by way of thanks, Sumi scratched behind his neck where he liked most.
"Thank you," she told him, and she plucked one of the blackberries off the twig and looked at it carefully to make sure it didn't have any insects on it before eating it and make a note that indicated how tasty it was.
This sort of thing continued for a while as she played her game and talked to the animals coming to visit with her. Most of the creatures were the smaller animals of the woods, but there were a couple of larger animals that came to greet her as well.
To the outside observer it would likely have appeared strange, but the good thing about this place was that she had actually been told that it was fine for her to do such things while on school grounds. This meant that she no longer worried about what others thought of how she spent her mornings, and she would even welcome her friends Fen and Clara to join her. Perhaps others as well, but she doubted any other would want to join her and her friends.
