Thread: Interrogation WHO: Jack Cavanaugh and Galadari Rubinhart WHERE: Jack's office, Sphinx WHEN: Saturday, afternoon
It was a mess.
Jack knew the elf twins were having problems: Galadari had talked about them and, when prompted, so had Gilderoi. Such a change from last year, when the two would have closed rank and defended one another, like they had tried to with the Roc. Jack had been angry with them then, furious, and that same anger had taken hold of him now.
He was proud of the elven twins, who were smart and capable, if a little prone to mischief. He was proud to count them among Sphinx. Even stunts like the Roc or the Lighthouse... Of course, those were not things to be proud of. Acts of carelessness, but still, they were things teenagers did: have adventures, to feel bold. But he had to admit, sometimes there was a certain kind of cruelty to their actions and that was the quality Jack had steadily tried to weed out. Empathy. Empathy was key.
And now, it seemed the two had turned their cruelty on one another. Their stories were conflicting and one of them was lying. He had to figure out which one. Jack had already accosted Gilderoi and now it was Galadari's turn. The Baron-to-be was sitting in the chair opposite of his desk and Jack had his eyes fixed on him, obviously displeased. "Talk."
