Narrative: Cleaning House WHO: Cressida Hallowfen with mentions of Micah Kaden (open to reactions) WHEN: Monday, Sept. 4, evening WHERE: Hydra dorm
While public schools and most businesses had the day off, St. Margaret's held classes still. They didn't observe American holidays because at heart, St. Margaret's was a European school. It was also a private boarding school so it helped that they weren't getting any sort of government funding that would make them obligated to close down for the day. So the school day passed and then the day settled into the evening. The students of Hydra house were given notice that they were required to be at their dorms at a specific time. The only person who had any clue as to what it might mean might've been John. Everyone else was left to speculate.
Cressida gathered the students of Hydra house together in the common room with Micah standing to the side, allowing her to address her students.
"After I finish speaking, you will go directly to your room and wait for Mr. Kaden and myself to arrive. It has come to my attention that students in this house are in possession of items that are illegal to possess or prohibited from having on school property. We will be searching the rooms for those items and if found, the student will receive a detention for possession and then I will speak with them personally for further discussion on how to prevent further use."
Already voices were starting to rise in protest and Cressida simply continued talking, not raising her voice or repeating herself. The students knew to listen when she spoke.
"Your presence here at this school is not a permanent situation. Actions have consequences. It pains me to even have to say that, because I expect all of you to understand that concept. No one is exempt from the rules nor above the law," she continued, "Complain all you want, but I have a house to watch over and I will not see it fall into disarray or self-destruction.
"Now march to your rooms and wait there. Once your room inspection is complete, you will each receive further instruction on what follows. You can complain all you want but after."
The students dispersed with a great deal of complaints and headed up to their dorms. Word would get out soon enough, but she had to take the necessary steps to cleanse the house. She already had one student in the clutches of addiction, she feared that others might be in the same situation. Soon the common room was empty.
Looking to Micah, she sighed, "Let's get started."
