Speeches: Hayden
"What's goin on everybody? I'm Hayden, and Sorin was my friend." Hayden adjusted his grip on the microphone and let his eyes scan the crowd. "I'm going to try to keep this light, because that was the kind of guy Sorin was. I mean, like, literally, his smile could actually light up a dark room." Hayden smiled and laughed softly.
"Sorin was one of the few people here who found out about my secret. Andrei figured it out and told him. We all know how close Sorin and Andrei were." He nodded along with some other people. "Anyway, when he found out, Sorin reached out to me and took me under his giant wing. The wing that seemed to be able to extend to cover anyone and everyone. Whenever I had a problem, I knew I could go to him and he'd talk me through, or at least let me vent. We..." Hayden swallowed, voice beginning to quaver and feeling his eyes start to become moist.
He cleared his throat and tried again. "We were talking one night about sex." Another soft laugh escaped him and Hayden used the heel of his hand to wipe at his eyes. "How different it is as a girl compared to when I was a boy, and somehow... somehow we got around to talking about if I'd ever do a guy. There might have been alcohol involved, I don't know, but anyway. Because Sorin was so damn charming and just.. just... genuine, I ended up in his bed and let me tell you." Hayden let out a low whistle through his pursed lips, eyebrows up. "It was a night I'll never forget."
Hayden smiled again. "So, because of Sorin's friendship, I came to realize that I can be much more open to love from other people, even if they're other dudes. I never would've gotten to this point without him and maybe, just maybe, his help went towards breaking the curse. Sorin, wherever you are now, I'll never forget you."
Hayden wiped his eyes one more time and handed the microphone back to Valentin.
