Sumi meets Squirrel Girl
Who: Sumi and Open Where: School Grounds near Pegasus When: After classes Warning: Probably none
It hadn't taken too long for Sumi to find her favorite spot outside the dorms. It was a tree containing a warbler nest as well as a funny little chipmunk who enjoyed perching itself on her shoulder. She had come to read books aloud at the tree lately since the chicks hatched as they seemed to enjoy the stories she read to them. Obviously many of the things they were unable to understand as they were so young and also not human, but they enjoyed the time never the less.
Today she had a new book in hand. It was one that Brandon had spotted and thought Sumi would like. She had only just gotten it, so as she sat in her red shorts and light gray shirt, she opened the book for the first time. She recognized why Brandon had thought she would like it simply from the title The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Squirrel Meets World. It also wasn't too far into the book that she began to smile as the girl within it, Doreen Green, was able to speak with and understand squirrels. The chipmunk upon Sumi's shoulder hopped up and down and spun around a couple of times when this was revealed all the while chittering something to the effect of, "Oh my god! Oh my god! That's like you! You can do that, but you're better cause you understand me!"
Sumi couldn't help but laugh at the little one's reaction to that. "It kind of is," she smiled, "You don't think I'm going to grow a tail do you?"
"Maybe it will come later!" the chipmunk chittered at her in an attempt to console her, "Squirrel tails aren't that great anyways. They're just a bunch of show offs."
Sumi laughed aloud again before realizing someone had come near. She then found herself feeling nervous suddenly. She knew the school was filled with people who were able to do all sorts of things, but she was still much more comfortable with the animals around there than she was with the other students. This meant that she lifted the book again and pulled her legs a bit closer to her body in hopes that the person wouldn't make fun of her or anything like that.
