Who: Clara James and Sumi Akio What: Meeting, talking wth Clara in her deer form. Where: Starting in the forest near the school. When: Sunday afternoon. Warnings: None
Clara had come a long way from the frightened doe she'd been last year. While she still had issues with being a were, she'd come to enjoy going for runs in her deer form. It was one of the few times that she was completely free from worry. She scampered through the forest, occasionally leaping over a stump or other obstacle in her path. It felt like flying. If she could have done track and field in her doe form, she might have chosen that over tennis for her sport that year.
Her deer hearing was acutely aware of every sound, the wind whistling, branches rustling, small animals scurrying around the woods, and people going about their day in the background. When she heard someone closer, she fought the urge to flee. She was a mentor now; she couldn't treat her fellow students like dangerous predators any longer and her sense of smell told her this stranger wasn't a wolf or any other type of were. She approached the stranger carefully and lowered her head, doing her best to appear friendly and safe. If only there was a way to tell the other girl that she wouldn't hurt her. She was just Clara, the weredeer.
