Fred nodded in agreement. Plus there was the whole thing where she apparently sucked at being a hunter. Thus far she had been bested by the same vamp twice, and it took someone completely untrained to finish him off. Maybe it was a good idea to let herself start out a little less complicated. "Might be a good start for me," she grinned, "Might help me keep in touch with you, Haylie, and that dumbass demon." She no longer called Davian a dumbass demon out of disgust anymore, but rather it had become an affectionate term for him. She didn't even hate admitting it anymore. He grew on her.
At the mention of that he believed her parents would be proud of her, she looked down. She wasn't so certain of that. She still could remember vividly the look on her mother's face that night; however, she looked back up at him hoping that she wasn't giving anything major away about what she was thinking. "I hope so," she replied, "I have a lot to make up for with them."
