Valentin & Sorin: When the Clock Strikes Twelve
Sorin smiled, not because Valentin had been tied up, but because he was already prepared to apologize first to the boy. That was the kind of person Valentin was. Good. But what Sorin didn't think Valentin had to apologize for was being a lousy kisser. He couldn't be that bad.
Around them, the clock began making noise, chiming out the hour of midnight, and students cheered with excitement. They removed their masks and sought out their friends who hadn't already been identified. Voices rose above the sound of the clock, but Sorin didn't move from Valentin.
He slipped his mask off his own face and then carefully removed Valentin's. As soon as the masks were clear, Sorin cupped the boy's cheek and softly sealed their lips together.
