Felicity and Gil
Felicity arrived with Galad, arm in arm. Her shorter blonde hair was still immaculately done up to give the illusion of more hair in a classical style. The dress was designer with real ostrich feathers incorporated in, and a mask that hid half of her face. Gold and white and black were the primary colors, though her lips were painted her favorite shade of crimson. She and Galad looked like royalty as they entered together, and even if their own dress wasn't the elaborate and even absurd designs other students sought, they still stuck out.
Galad departed to dance with others, which Felicity was fine with. There was always that knowledge that the two of them were together that didn't bother her so much. And over the past few months, she felt a stronger tie to Galad than she had before. She didn't gush everything to him but she wasn't that sort of girl. Felicity made plans and had a future, and enjoyed gossiping more about others. The only disappointment this evening was that Pavel had managed to trick Mr. Kaden and pulled off spiking the drink. It had required looking at the fae and perhaps there was just enough human in her bloodline for her to feel a slight draw to him. Not enough to have her wandering toward him in a trance, but she had to turn and look at her betrothed to pull herself out of it.
Stupid fairies. Couldn't attract on their own, so they bred something that forced an attraction. Absolutely absurd. But of course a fairy would be the one to do it.
Now she stood on her own, observing Van and his date sitting on the side eating and talking. They were here still, so Van must be doing something right or the people here were doing a good job at proving entertaining. A couple with Medusa-like twists coming out of their headpieces walked by. Yes, that's probably what did it.
Her eyes lifted upward toward the starlit ceiling before observing the deep floor. Dancing amongst the stars. How romantic. She might need to remember that for a screenplay she was working on.
