Clara and John
Clara had kept her hair and makeup simple, not wanting to distract from her outfit. She wore a skirt that was easy to dance in and a crop top that would let John touch her bare skin when he put his hand on her back. To fit with the festive spirit of the Venetian Carnival theme, she'd chosen an elaborate mask with feathers. The mask was in shades of pink and her shoes matched the pink of her top. It was a colour that made her think of beautiful flowers in bloom and that was one of her favourite parts of spring. She hadn't insisted on John wearing a matching look. Very few guys were comfortable in pink and she wanted him to enjoy this night, especially since his recent news about repeating a year.
Clara strode into the ballroom with a surprising confidence. There was no doubt in her mind that it was due to having a wonderful date. She took a quick look around the room, then smiled up at John and reached for his hand. "I'm lucky. I have the best looking date here."
