Cressida and Leon
Cressida served as a chaperone. The previous year, she and Micah skipped out and spent a nice weekend at a bed and breakfast. This year they were on chaperone duty and serving in that position as needed. Micah stood guard over the punch bowl and Cressida wandered around, keeping an eye on students. She wasn't quite so vigilant though, but merely took in the sight of the students enjoying themselves. The theme was certainly elaborate and decorative, but she admired the authenticity they attempted to achieve. From the fountains to the flowers, it was a sight and the latter of which drew great admiration from her.
A familiar face appeared among the students. Cressida recognized Leon immediately. He was a student that was hard to forget and one that she had both ups and downs with during his time there as a student. Cressida wore a simple black dress with an elaborate (though nearly not so extravagant as others) mask. She was easily identified with her tall form and dark hair. Leon wore simple black to contrast nicely with the mask he wore. He appeared to be attending the dance with Victoria. That was a friendship that she always found interesting but somehow it made sense. Unlike other Ladons, Victoria wasn't quite so boisterous. In fact, she was reserved much of the time.
Now she and Leon were standing not too far from each other. Victoria had gone off to the bathroom or something, and so Cressida came to stand near Leon. "Hello, Leon," she said, turning with rogue colored lips to smile at the former student, "It's good to see you." She hadn't seen him for some time. He looked different. Perhaps more relaxed, now that he wasn't a student there.
She wanted to speak with Leon to say hello but she also wanted to discuss another matter. The matter of his brother. John's attitude toward his failure had worried her and the last conversation she had with him had set off a number of red flags. Cressida was aware of John's previous troubles, and feared that trouble may be brewing again. She hoped that maybe Leon could offer some insights.
