Thread: A Date & a Discussion WHO: Thierry Gravois and Sara Martin, later Jae Song WHEN: A few weeks ago WHERE: Strike! And then Sara's room in Pegasus Dorms STATUS: To be completed in comments
Thierry picked Vixey up from the Pegasus dorms and the two headed into town. Their first stop was at Pza! Where they shared a pie and drinks. The conversation was about school and plans for the school year. Also about their work in town, as Thierry worked at Duke's Diner still and Vixey had a job at the Mixed Bag. After dinner they went to Strike!, which was where they were now. It was a pretty close game so far.
"You givin' me a run for my money, Vixey," Thierry said as he picked up the bowling ball with one hand, "'dis was supposed to be my time to impress you wit' my skill." He was joking, clearly. Thierry enjoyed some healthy competition but it was more important to have a good time. When the competition got too fierce, it took all the fun out of it. So far it seemed that both were enjoying a bit of the race but not letting it get to their heads.
The bowling shoes looked funny on anyone, and Thierry's were bright orange and green. Hideous coloring but nobody wore bowling shoes for fashion. He pulled his hair back to keep it out of his face, noting as he did he would need to trim it up soon. He had on a simple white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled to his elbows and a pair of plain jeans. For Vixey, Thierry felt like he needed to dress a little nicer, and he didn't think it was a bad thing either.
Later that night . . .
Jae had come to hang out with Vixey as she usually did. Now that they were both going to attend Juilliard, they had a lot to talk about. That included housing, though the two now knew that they were required to stay on campus for their first year. That was fine though because it would give them a lay of the land before they would find somewhere else to stay, hopefully within a reasonable distance from campus. But she had something on her mind, something she had seen that night that she wanted to ask Vixey about. She had her laptop before her and Vixey was busying herself in her room. She was positively glowing.
"So since we're staying on campus, we can room together, I think. It doesn't look like we'll have to live separated by what we're studying," Jae confirmed, "That'll be fun, right?" Jae was impeccably neat, and she didn't mind picking up the slack of others on occasion. She only helped Davian part of the time though because it was like every thing she picked up, he dropped five other things.
She decided though, it was now or never. She had to bring it up.
"So," Jae said closing the lid of her laptop, "I saw you and Thierry in town together. Holding hands?" It was asked like a question but it wasn't a question as to if they were holding hands or not. The underlying question wanted to know why.
Sara was sitting at her mirror, languidly brushing her long blonde hair as Jae researched housing for them in New York. Admittedly, she was distracted. While Sara was excited to get to Juilliard and started some serious ballet studies, she had started to feel herself falling for the werewolf boy from Sphinx who had a charming smile and always something cute to say. Always nice. Always good.
She sighed to herself and was only half listening to Jae. That is, until Jae brought up Thierry’s name.
“What? I don’t-- I don’t know what you’re talking about. Are you sure it was me? Doesn’t sound like me.” Sara’s hair brush moved through her hair with quick strokes, enticing static to build in the thick locks. She avoided looking at Jae in the mirror, focused on her own reflection and hoping to avoid having to explain herself to her best friend.
Jae exhaled softly. She was good at observing the shift in Sara's behavior. The way she brushed her hair faster and the questions she returned instead of a simple denial. She was even avoiding eye contact. Jae knew the little habits of her friend all too well. She pressed her own lips together and shifted on the bed, facing the mirror more fully.
"Vixey, I know it was you," Jae said, "It's not like I've never smelled you before. Or your body spray." Jae was probably the most level-headed of the fox sisters. She didn't crush easily on boys and she had a long-standing admiration-from-a-distance toward Dustin. One that Davian teased her about incessantly.
She raised her eyebrows, "So. What's going on? I thought you thought of him as just a friend."
