Kana had been finding that she was more and more anxious to leave the school even though she wasn't sure about her prospects. She had missed the deadline for most of the schools due to her fear of rejection, and now her last hope was the school in Korea that Jae's mother had told her she would help with; of course, that was if she didn't have a problem graduating. Mr. Farrell notified her that she had one more thing she needed to do before she would be done with school. She wasn't sure what it could be though, and he seemed too busy and didn't give details. He had just told her he would leave the door to the art room unlocked for her. She had been racking her brain the entire walk over trying to figure out what he could have meant. She was wearing a black cold-shoulder dress that she had recently gotten from work. She had some ideas to work on it, but at the moment she was just wanting to see how it felt. She knocked on the door before opening it. "Mr. Farrell?" she said as she walked in, but he wasn't anywhere to be seen. She shrugged. He must have had other things to do. It was disappointing since she kind of wanted to see what he thought of some of her ideas for the dress. She liked trying to impress him. He was pretty much her favorite teacher, and it didn't hurt that he was handsome. Spotting a piece of paper at her usual seat, she approached it believing he must have left instructions for her. It was around this time she noticed something. A familiar smell. She looked around to the door, but no one had entered. She dismissed the smell as her imagination, and picked up the piece of paper to begin reading. | |

Kana stared at the piece of paper before her before realizing there was another one on the table with similar words upon it, but it couldn't be, could it? There had to be a mistake. She lifted it and read another acceptance letter, this one from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Another one was underneath it. This one was for Pratt. "It's possible I was a little bias on where you went to school," Xavier's voice admitted. Kana turned around to look at her brother with teary eyes. "I know I've told you plenty of times before that your work is amazing, but is there any chance you can believe that now?" "What is this?" Kana asked as tears were starting to form in her eyes. "I submitted some college applications with your name on them," he told her, "Of course, I had a little help from Mom." His face grimaced a bit as he said the last word, but it was the first time she had ever heard him actually call their mother that. "Her and the art teacher. We got some things of yours together as well as all the work you've done while here. That theater teacher, Ms. Edouard was overjoyed to send pictures with all of the costumes you've done for her." Kana looked at the letters in her hand and back at her brother. Tears now fully formed and dripping onto the floor she leaped forward to hug her brother. He always looked out for her even when she felt like she was nothing. He, who could have lived a perfectly normal life if he had just left her. "Thank you," she said before she became too choked up. "I believe that is our cue," said another familiar voice, "Congratulations!" Her mother appeared out of nowhere as she dropped the glamour that hid all of Kana's friends. |
