Fred raised one of her eyebrows as she stared at the girl. "Oh yeah," she replied, "It's the new thing, didn't you hear? Sending videos that expose the fact that vampires exist." She shook her had and chuckled softly. "I meant I was doing a video before I got hungry." At least she now knew how much the girl had seen. Fred wasn't too keen on letting people know what she was working on lately, so the fact that the new girl didn't see much was preferable.
That was definitely not where she was expecting the conversation to go. In fact Fred had to take a second to make sure she had heard the girl right. "Oh you know the usual," she replied, "Make good grades, study, impress the teachers by following all the rules." She knew she was being a bit harsher with the sarcasm than usual, but she couldn't help it. It just seemed to be how she handled situations when she was nervous about something. "Oh, and sometimes we party, but it's always low key and everyone's in bed by nine."
She shook her head. "Sorry," she told her, "I just have a lot on my mind. What do you like to do?"
