The Hunt: Clara & Pavel - The Eggsperts!
"No Easter egg hunt?" That was almost unimaginable to Clara. She may have been a bit spoiled, being the only child for all three of her parents to hide eggs for and entertain with stories about the Easter Bunny. "I had three when I was young! My dads would have chocolate eggs for me to find in the morning. Then I'd do a hunt at my Mom's for decorated eggs in the afternoon. And at night, there were flashlight egg hunts in the state parks near my hometown. When I got too old for my parents to do them, I still did the flashlight ones with my friends."
Clara smiled at the memories. "In between hunts, we'd have a big brunch. My family's not religious though, at least not my immediate family." She rarely saw her extended family to their difficulty accepting her father. The closest she came to a religious Easter was hearing a friend call it zombie Jesus day. "What's paska?"
Clara used her enhanced vision to take a good look at the other student's basket when they ran off. "We have more eggs than them. And I know there's one here somewhere." She grinned and sped up her steps. "They wouldn't have...would they? Here!" She reached into an bird's nest. It was an old nest, a sniff let her know that any birds hadn't used it for a long time. She pulled out one of the decorated eggs. "That's so cute."
