Valentin and Haylie: Pep Talk
Valentin took a moment to stare in admiration as Haylie shucked her blanket and ran onto the platform, her feet thudding on the wooden planks. With a war cry, the slight girl dove right into the water. Most students would tiptoe around the shore, venture forth in the water until they were submerged to their hips, before splashing forward, gasping with the cold and bolting back to the safety of the shore. Haylie, like a badass, had simply jumped in.
Valentin nodded appreciatively, but then sprang into action when she started crying for help.
Valentin ran into the water, unbothered by the temperature of it all. It was night, so his speed was particularly impressive, as his was his strength: he was besides her in a few wet instants, picked her up with surprising ease and then dashed back to the shore, bringing her within the warm safety of the wards.
"Fuck yeah," he said, though not loudly as there were teachers nearby. "That was awesome! How many do you need to do?"
