Thread: Friday Nights by Hydra Lights WHO: Sasha & Van WHEN: Friday night, Jan. 27 WHERE: Hydra House common room
Friday night for some people meant getting together with their friends and going out. Out to Camden to catch a movie, out to Duke's Diner to get some dinner and be rowdy in the parking lot with the local kids, out to try passing as a 21 year old at The Dockyard to have a drink. There were school parties too. Kitsune almost always had one going on, and Ladon was always able to stock it with booze. Pegasus brought everyone together with interactive games or contests, even getting the Sphinx kids involved.
But for Hydra, well. Hydra kids were, if you asked them, a cut above the rest. They typically didn't care for those kinds of foolish shenanigans. They had their own things going on and didn't need other people to entertain them. For the most part, Hydra was a strong group of independent thinkers and doers. Parties only bored them.
Or at least that's how it was for Van. He didn't care for group activities. On a Friday night, the most likely place to find Van was sitting alone with his headphones on, playing his 3DS into the late hours. He'd make an appearance for food, maybe swipe a beer off a Ladon, but then he was back at it again.
Tonight Van was passing through the Hydra common area for the corner kitchenette to grab some water. He had his headphones on and was looking down at his game system as he walked, barely glancing up to step around the couch. Other passing Hydra students paid him no mind. The feeling was mutual that they didn't bother one another.
Van snagged a green apple from the bowl on his way to the fridge for water. He bit into the side of the fruit to hold between his teeth as he looked away from his game and into the open fridge. Standing there a few seconds, apple in his mouth, Van located his stowed bottle of water and leaned in to get it. Then the door swung shut with an encouraging kick from his heel as the kelpie boy turned to go back up to his room, eyes on the game again.
