"I was a being of shadow and hunger," Wendy gritted and, for the first time, there was a hint of displeasure on his voice. "I looked very different than this frail, pale meat sack." He'd had menace. He'd inspired fear. Now, all he inspired was a vague interest from his fellow students and disdain from a baby drake. He huffed, not yet having learned the phrase 'fuck my life'. He grunted again in response to Sasha's question. Of course he would not enjoy summer.
He grinned at the notion. "Of course," he said, and it seemed there were a lot more teeth in his smile than a human ought to have. "I was a powerful Wendigo. I ate what I desired, when I wanted it. Who did not matter. In the end, all humans feared the same." The grin widened. "Me."
