Obviously Alex was through with the avoidance dance. There really wasn't going to be a way for her to retreat from this conversation anymore. It was bound to be either him or Haylie, and she knew that it was only a matter of time. Time simply has run out, so she would now have to at least tell them something.
"I never want to celebrate the day I died," she hissed. She knew he hadn't a clue really about the events that occurred on that day, but it was definitely a sore subject for her. "As for my birthday, can't you see all the fun that's going on?" She tried to smile as she spoke, "My parents and best friend since childhood are having a blast." A tear fell down her cheek as she spoke. "You might have to use something to see ghosts to see them though."
"At least as a recluse I might not get anyone else killed."
