"No! Stop!" Neculai shouted. He was glaring hotly at Tanek, but his gaze shot to Dana who was sent to fetch Hallowfen. He went still and stopped fighting Andrei's hold. Nick swallowed. He couldn't let Tanek ruin Imani for him. She had been trusting since the first time she revealed she knew he wasn't Sorin, but there had to be a limit somewhere. His attempt to shatter the mirror could be seen as an attack on Sorin if it weren't for all the other reflective surfaces in the world that would show the boy.
And yes, Nick wanted Sorin to be gone. He was the real one, he was the person in this, not Sorin. But he couldn't lose Imani in the process. There was still a chance, even if he brought Sorin back, that he could make it back one day. But there was no chance of that happening if his bridges were completely burned.
"I will bring him back, just--" Neculai shook his head and looked at Imani. "Just leave Imani alone. This was not her doing. She didn't know." His gaze shifted to Tanek and Sorin's blue eyes darkened unlike Sorin's ever had before. "And shut him up or I'll destroy us both."
